SameAddress is an age-in-place resource, committed to keeping older adults living in their own homes longer as they age. Launched in July 2015, SameAddress provides in-home care and concierge for older adults, to help maintain their safety, comfort and independence.

SameAddress is a program of the non-profit Area Agency on Aging 1-B (AAA 1-B), a trusted senior resource for more than 40 years.

Headquartered in Southfield, just one floor below the AAA 1-B offices, SameAddress launched with a handful of team members on-site and a substantial network of experts, partners and resources to service older adults and their caregivers across Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Livingston, St. Clair and Washtenaw counties. Services include in-home care, home modification, daily living support, home health care management and professional services.

“We know an overwhelming majority of older adults would prefer to remain living at home for as long as possible, but maintaining independence as we age requires a coordinated effort,” said Tina Abbate Marzolf, CEO of both SameAddress and AAA 1-B. “Many seniors or their caregivers are juggling everything from lawn maintenance to medication doses to tax returns to transportation to chronic disease management to home repair to doctor’s appointments, and everything in between. At SameAddress, we can help with all of those things, with essentially one phone call.”

Additionally, SameAddress provides no-cost in-home assessments, which can help a family better understand an older adult’s needs and abilities, as well as their home’s suitability for safely and comfortably aging in place. Following an assessment, the SameAddress team designs individualized care plans for patients and their caregivers, with costs that will vary based on the family budget, and level and number of services needed. In almost all cases, home care is a more affordable option than a senior living facility.

“Care options for older adults can be overwhelming. At SameAddress, our goal is to make the decision-making process— and the coordination of the resulting choice— as streamlined as possible,” continued Abbate Marzolf. “We are that one-source answer that I know so many seniors and caregivers are looking for.”
